In one way, the process we help you go through to build your personal pyramid is unique to each business owner. A lot of it is a proven system that we have found to work over the last 20 years.
The part that is unique to you is that our first meeting is really all about you. Whether it is a 30-minute “What’s Possible” Session, a cup of coffee at Starbucks or a meeting at my office, we focus on you. We look at where you want to go: What are your dreams—for your life, not just your business—what is really important to you? Why did you get start the business? Where do you want to go from here? Our initial goal is to understand you. Perhaps, you will understand yourself and see a picture better than you ever have.
Once a picture of the ideal future is painted, then we look at where you are at. It really doesn’t matter where you are at. We have business owners who have as many as 20 companies with millions of dollars of net worth as clients and we have clients have had to pick themselves and brush themselves off and get back on the road to their dreams. You need to know where you are at before you can figure out how to get to where you want. We need to understand this to be your coach along the way.
After we both are clear on where you want to go and where you are, we develop a plan of how to get there. We put ourselves in your shoes. We look at it from the standpoint of, “If I were you, knowing what I know, what is the most efficient way to get to where I want?” We go to our quiver of arrows and pick out the tools that will best get you to where you want. The building blocks are the same: we have to have a solid foundation for your pyramid and then build from there. The end goal, generically, is the same: create a business that is “saleable”. We have many tools in each area of concern.
Which we recommend is unique to you. There is some science, and some art in making those recommendations. This is one of our core strengths: coming up with comprehensive, cost-effective, easy-to-understand plans.
The real key to reaching your goals is regular follow up. Some clients with complicated situations and goals may need to meet quarterly. Others only need to meet once a year. I often use the analogy of sailing from San Francisco to Hawaii. If you just point your boat at Hawaii and never check your course, you won’t wind up in Hawaii. The winds, the currents and other factors will cause you to alter your course from time to time.
Life has the same way of making that a necessity when it comes to your business and finances. We have to review where you want to go, where you are and how you are going to get there regularly.
One of the tools to do this is called eMoney. It gives you a snapshot, updated daily of every bank and investment account you have, whether we manage it or not. Also, you can print financial reports such as balance sheets with just a few clicks. No more filling out annual bank forms by hand and hours compiling what you have. Also, “The Vault” secures all your important financial documents such as trusts and tax returns so you always know where they are at and can access them easily from anywhere in the world where you have internet access.
All in all, you enjoy what we call the “Wow experience”. You reach your goals in a way you feel comfortable with. We feel proud that we can deliver excellent results seamlessly. We all win.
Based on our years of experience working with hundreds of business owners, we have developed the following processes to help you get results quickly and effectively on very specific issues. Please click on one of the processes to view a full description.
